The Varied Triller (Lalage leucomela) is aptly named, with a less electronic but still buzzing call. It is a small member of the Cuckooshrike family and very often you identify it by the orange belly. As it flits around the rainforest, that is often the most distinctive feature. The female and juvenile are more barred on the breast than the male, pictured above.
As rainforest birds, this Cuckooshrike is found on eastern and northern coastal areas of Australia and into Papua New Guinea.
