White-winged Triller

The White-winged Triller (Lalage tricolor) is the most easy of the Cuckooshrikes to mis-identify. While the male is a distinct black and white, the female and juveniles (pictured above) are brown, browner and everything inbetween! Their call is also different, being actually quite melodic and tuneful.

They are widespread across Australia and surrounds, even reaching New Zealand on occasion.
